I am in Athens

Just a few photos during my stay in Athens.

I took this photo yesterday. The is the famous Parthenon (The Glory of the Acropolis). I took this at a small hill (it is called the Philopappou Hill) opposite to the Acropolis. I didn’t get a tripod, just put the camera on some rocks. I came to this hill again today and tried to take another shot again before the sky turned dark. I ‘ll post the photos when I am back to Hong Kong

Dancing with Yervant workshop-what I learned

The workshop finished yesterday and I went to Athens & stayed here for 3 days, just to relax. In last few days, we had over 12 hrs of workshop everyday — going out shooting, learning photo skill, photoshop skill, critics session, discussing of business. Someone asked me what I learned … … I believe that the most important thing I learned is more understanding of my weakness, & what I am not good at.

During the critics session, every photographer submitted a few photos to Yervant to have his comment. He said my photos are good, & the brides are going to love them. However, as a professional photographer, he could point out all bad things about the photos — the light is not correct, the pose of the bride is not good. If I enter those photos into a competition, it is straight "OUT" for sure.

This is very useful, makes me step back and think how I can reach the next level of my career. The workshop is definitely the best investment as a wedding photographer.

Go to hiking in Yushan(Jade Mountain 玉山) in Taiwan

I am going to Yushan tomorrow morning for a hiking holiday. During the holiday, I have limited access to email and mobile. I ‘ll be back on 27 July (Thu).

This is my first time to have hiking in Taiwan and our team ‘ll try to reach the top of the mountain (at 3,952m) on 25 July morning. Hope that we can make it.

More update will be provided when I am back.

(Updated on 23 July) It is really bad. A typhoon is coming to Taiwan, we are still staying in Taipei and wait for our team leader ’s instruction. If the typhoon is strong, we have no choice to cancel it , otherwise, it is too dangerous for us to stay in the mountain. We ‘ll wait until Monday (24 July) morning.

Finally, got some time to update … … It was really bad, the typhoon arrived at the same time and same place we plan to reach the top of the mountain on 25 July. We had no choice to cancel the trip to Yushan, otherwise, we may be trapped inside the mountain.

So what did we do for the rest of the trip? It became a trip of EATING in Taipei … …

My photos in Island Reunion & Mauritius

Early this year, Xandra and I (with two of our friends – Chloe and Olive, together with Ann and Pierre who are living there) went to Island Reunion & Mauritius for holiday. This was an amazing trip – we had volcano climbing, hiking, swimming, driving … … I shot over 2,000 photos in two weeks, the scenes ‘re magnificent — we had sun set, sun rise, rainbow on the sea (a really big one) … …. Four months gone, but I am still too busy with photos of my clients and have no time to manage photos of my own. Finally, Xandra can ‘t wait any more, and ask me to teach her how to do a web slideshow. Today, she completed her 1st slideshow, please click the following link to run the slideshow (prepare to turn on the volume of your computer, she chose a good music from David Tao).

This photo was taken at the top of Volcano. We started to climb at 0300 and reached there at 0530. Just enough time to capture the "moment" before the sun rise. BTW, the white dots are not dust or dead spot on your monitor, they ‘re stars

Holiday in Cebu

I am having a holiday in Cebu, Philippines from 27-31 May. Xandra can spend a lot of time on her favorite — scuba diving. But I am still feeling very sick, hope that I can get well soon and don’t waste the holiday.

I ‘ll NOT listen to my mobile most of the time, if you ‘d like to reach me, you can send me a SMS, and I can try to get back to you ASAP.

(Update 4 June, 2006) I was really sick on the first two days of the trip and spent most of the time sleeping and got much better starting on the 3rd day. Xandra had 4 dives in total, unfortunately, I couldn’t join her because of the illness.

The 1st day in Mauritius

We arrived at Mauritius around 7:00 pm, the first thing happened to me is “I found my Luggage is TOTALLY BROKEN”

Then, spent 30 min to finish the claim. When we stepped out the airport, the sky was totally dark already. As we would fly to Island Reunion 2 days later, I need to buy a new luggage tomorrow.

It has been a long time I plan to creat� a blog for myself, however, it is too busy and it took me some times to understand all the technologies of blog software.

With a blog, I can let my clients understand me more, and it is fun to share other non-wedding photos.

I am about to go to Maritius and Reunion Island for a 2 weeks vacation, it is good time to start a blog!
