one of the most commonly asked question during client meeting is what kind of wedding I like most.
Happy wedding is definitely my answer.
lydia and wales ‘ wedding is one of the happiest wedding in last wedding season. Not only we have happy couple, but we have happy wedding party and families as well. I was very very impressed that when they finished the wedding ceremony, both of their parents came out on stage and gave the blessings to the newly wed. Very very touching !!!!

yes, it ’s raining again during the e-session of donna and tony. After several raining e-sessions in last season, I found that there are so many photo opportunities during raining. Of course, I couldn’t make it without a client willing to take photo under rain. Special thanks to donna and tony, especially it rained so bad at night!!! I can still remember - the lower part of donna ’s dress got completely wet, the raindrops on all our faces, my assistant Canly holding the flash and listening to my shouting on the street. But we had a blast and the resulting photos are awesome !!!!!!
Three umbrellas, seven crazy persons. And YES, WE MADE IT (shouting on the street !!!!!!!)
locations: Tai Tam Reservoir, Stanley Market, military cemetery, Central

this one is my fav. The flower pattern, the blue light, the yellow shopping windows light, the reflection on the ground, the raindrops, and donna ’s facial expression. All work perfectly together !!!

recently, a few of my photographer friends talked about same day edit on their blog or facebook, talking about they got very upset because they didnt’ get respect from their clients. Things like, playing the slideshow during toasting time, when the bride is changing, or even not played without having the photographer being notified.
I think I am lucky as most of my clients love the same day edit very much and I always got lots of good feedback after playing the slideshow. But I can feel the pain of the other photographers — I can’t say our slideshow is an art or a master piece, but it is definitely done with lots of effort. Think about it, after non- stop shooting from 0800 – 1700, when I arrive at the hotel, I start to prepare the slideshow, various steps such as
- downloading photos from memory card to laptop
- going through all photos and select 50-60 photos out of it
- doing some basic photo edit
- creating the slideshow and revise and revise
it can take 3-5 hours preparing all of these, and at the same time, I have to take break and take some photos during cake cutting, march it, or speech on stage. It ’s almost a non-stop working from 0800 – 2100. You can feel how frustrated it is if your slideshow is not played properly … …
Love this slideshow of the wedding of rachel and stephen a lot !!! Full of moments and happiness.
And I think I am lucky again, when the slideshow was about to play, the parents suddenly requested the couple do “tea ceremony” for other relatives. Big big thank you to the MC (Ka Ming) for helping me and changed the rundown a little bit so that the slideshow was not played along with the “tea ceremony” finally. And love to see both rachel and stephen could sit down and enjoy the show. Bravo !!!!!
BTW, happy to see my old client Jimmy, Karina and my friend Lee Wah, long time no see ar !!!

“A story of a Teacher and a pilot” – that ’s how Michelle describes themselves on her blog.
I took this pre-wedding session early Jan. Taking pictures of them just likes having a picnic – . Both Joe and I drove our own car on the day, and Joe brought me to lots of interesting locations at where I had never took any pre-wedding photos before.
locations: university of polytechnics, Sunny Bay (Yam O), Hong Kong International airport
makeup artist: mandy lee
my fav bridal photo of michelle – a big lawn at sunny bay – one word: “GORGEROUS”

my fav photo of Joe – one word: “型”

I believe I am a lucky wedding photographer – always have very nice client, friendly wedding parties and families, beautiful and gorgeous brides at beautiful locations
As you know, in Hong Kong, we have two big fireworks show over the Victoria harbour every year (one is on the 2nd day of Chinese new year, the other is on the 1st of Oct National Day).
In 2009, we had three fireworks show because of the 2009 Asian games opening on Dec 6th.
nothing ‘s luckier than the year of 2009, I had outdoor weddings in two of the fireworks shows and was able to watch the show very close at a very comfortable location. Jennifer and Fan ‘s wedding ‘s one of the two. The couple came from Shanghai to have their wedding in Hong Kong, with only their best friends and close families ‘re invited.
ceremony: Bethanie Chapel
reception: sevva, Central
makeup artist: Man Chan of Miracle
To be honest, I am not very good at shooting fireworks as I didn’t shoot any fireworks before in Hong Kong and tried to avoid the crowded places. Luckily, the photos turned out good, IMHO.

sevva, a very nice location!!!

Time is fast, it is already Jan 20th of 2010 and this is my 1st post in 2010.
Last few weeks – as busy as usual, no need to mention again – don’t want to bore you … …
What I am going to let you know and surprise you is: Xandra and I are going to have our second daughter next month !!!!!!!!!!! We ‘re so happy and excited for the arrival of this baby. We planned for it long time ago – after we had the 1st baby (Shulin), both of us thought that it would be much much better to have another child so that the two children can grow up together.
Before Shulin was born, I invited Lawrence to take our first pregnancy photo session. So to be fair to the younger baby, I arranged another photo session last week and we ‘re glad to have Ken Lam (the Kodak UK photographer of the year “2009”) to help us this time.
Even though the weather of the day was not good, we had lots of fun. It was so cold and wet outdoor that we finally decided to have the photo taken in a shopping mall and train station.
Here is a sneak peek. Ken, thanks for your great works, the photos are wonderful and you captured the happiness of my family.
Also great thanks to Canly, polly of faces hk and “Dai E” for all your great help on the day !!!!
More news of the baby coming very soon … …
Love this shot!!! we had this photo taken at the Shatin New Town Plaza shopping hall

can’t imagine that 2009 finishes so fast.
I just had the last weddings yesterday, and will have a few days’ break before the 1st wedding in 2010.
Another beautiful wedding I did on Monday – jennifer and chiu, I did the same day photo slideshow myself. There ‘re so many great images that I had no difficulty preparing the slideshow, it only took me two and a half hour to prepare it (from image transfer, photo selection, editing, slideshow preparation, to video rendering … )

reception: Harbour Plaza metropolis, Patio

merry Christmas and happy new year.
Just a few days left for 2009 and I have 3 more weddings to go before finishing the awesome and wonderful 2009.
The happy thing is - I don’t have wedding on the new year eve and Christmas eve this year, so finally I can have “count down” with my love ones – Xandra and Shulin. What am I going to do tonight? Honestly, Xandra and I don’t like crowded places at all (Is it a joke for a wedding photographer??), so a quiet night (no work, no email) with my family is the best for me.
Another beautiful wedding to share before the Christmas – Yuki and Roni.
First time to have wedding at the American Club – beautiful location and so happy to work with my friend Evelyn from Marriage Maestros. She is fabulous, with her help, you don’t’ need to worry any details and surly can enjoy your wedding.
ceremony and reception: the American club Hong Kong at Tai Tam
wedding planner: marriage maestros

my fav of the day !!!!
When I was taking pic of the montage and the head table before the start of the reception, I found roni walking around to practice his speech. Love this moment so much.

always love taking dance shots – it is always a challenge for wedding photographer. Light is always dim, motion is fast, and no rehearsal.
Here are a few of my fav dance shots of the night.
dancing with father

the first dance.

this one is really a challenge. They kept turning and moving in and out. So happy to get this shot with wonderful color, great emotion, and framing
