love the post title – it means I got something new in the photos again.
You may notice there are several wedding locations/venues got very very popular among my clients.
for reception venue, AMC, four seasons, peninsula, island shangri la and repulse bay are the most popular
for church, bethanie chapel, St. Margaret church – almost go there once every week during the peak season.
Shooting at the same location every week is a good and bad thing – you get very familiar with the places, but easily get bored at the same time. To avoid getting bored, I ‘ll try my best to get a few new and creative shots every time, if I can get 2-3 new shots on the day, then I am satisfied, and don’t have pressure at all for the rest of the day. 2-3 new shots may sound too less for you, but please remember, we may have over [......]

it is exactly one year after I took the pre-wedding photo of charis and tsui kit. since then, we became good friend of each other and I am so looking forward to their wedding day.
Honestly, I personally feel that tsui kit has a “hyperactive” problem , he just never stop, full of energy anytime, anywhere !!!
But, on the wedding day, I learn the other side of him, and it is very touching to me.
In the middle of the day, charis took me into a room and asked me to take some photos of a present that she received the day before – this is the last present she received from tsui kit as his girl friend.
What is it? This is a box full of notes, paper, letter … … Since the 1st day they met eight years ago, tsui kit believed that he ‘s going to spend the rest [......]

there is a story behind the following two photos that I ‘d like to share – a story about my photography approach.
It was the wedding of winnie and marcus, around 6:00pm, everyone was taking a rest to prepare for the cocktail. Not many guest at the cocktail area, so I took the time to take some shots of the decoration. After taking a few shots of the (blank) backdrop, I ‘d like to add some elements to it to make it more “alive”. So I set up the camera on tripod and WAIT for something to happen in front of the backdrop. In fact, I was anticipating children running around (it is not uncommon, is it?). After 1-2 min, a waiter walked across and I got the 1st shot below. I love it, better than a blank backdrop and it looked more interesting. After a few min., nothing interesting happened, [......]

a beautiful wedding – simple but full of touching moments.
ceremony: St. Margaret ‘s Church
reception: four seasons hotel hong kong
video: tomoko of simon.the.photo
on arrival at the church. Karen was still in the limo, with the reflection of the bridesmaids on the window. My fav photo of the day
the whole day summary prepared by tomoko. A brief introduction of tomoko: she joined my team since last year. Prior to joining us, she has been working with NHK for years and with experience producing over hundred documentary films before. I really love her style – documenting a wedding, with lots emotions and details.

I got a lot of emails like this recently … …
“ Hi Simon, why didn’t you upload our photos onto your blog, is there any problem? Is our photo not good enough?”
I feel so sorry when I see clients so eager to see their photos on my blog. I am in fact very very behind updating the blog in last three months, I dare not to count how many shootings that I didn’t blog.
What keeps me so busy? Other than shooting, most of my time are spent on editing photos & creating albums, and I ‘d like to make sure I can deliver the photos to you within the agreed time frame (8-10 weeks)
there are also a lot of emails like these
“ we are going to visit my family in UK (or xxx) in X’mas, can we have the photos ready before?”
“ Our family is going to visit us in [......]
