I always love wedding full of smiles, laughters and tears. I feel so touching whenever I see the bride cries. But I find it ‘s even more touching when I see the groom and his friends cry.
I seldom put a photo without a bride as the first photo in a blog post, this is definitely an exception. joji ‘s friends prepared an interview video themselves in which lots of joji ‘ s friends shared their happiness and greeting. That video was so touching that made everyone cried.

If my memory is right, I never put a photo only seeing the back of the bride as the 1st photo of a blog post. The reason I love this photo was the expression of the bridesmaids that really reflected the joy of the wedding day. I always find difficult to take photo of bridesmaids like this as most of the bridesmaids are very sensitive to camera and some of them are even not willing to be included in all pictures.
Lucky that I was the only photographer for grace and bobby ‘s wedding, no 2nd photographer, no video. By shooting alone and being unobtrusive, uninterrupted and staying focus, it was easier for me to take candid and natural shot like this.

For most of the weddings in hong kong, it’s not uncommon for clients hire 2 photographers and 2 cameramen (video) for their weddings. Together with assistants, there may be around 6-7 crew members in a wedding. though it may be necessary for a wedding with 300 or 400 plus guests, but I always think it’s difficult for the couples and families to act naturally in front all these camera and strangers, especially inside the hotel room. If you let me choose, I ‘d rather to shoot a small wedding alone, without other photographer or camera man.
I always find that the less crew member there is, the more natural the people look in front of my camera. Of course, being working alone doesn’t guarantee you good candid photos, you also need other techniques and experience to get it …. ….. still lots to learn.

I was very worried a few days before the wedding of becky and ray last Friday. As you remembered, we had the 1st typhoon this year, and the weather forecast was very bad …. ….. rain with thunderstorm !!!!!!!!
And it was even worse that the wedding started at park island — a place where we could only go by either bus or ferry, no taxi, no private car. Just imagine how bad it can be with thunderstorm when we are getting off the bus with all the equipments and bags we have.
just giving you an idea of the things we (Canly and I) bring on a wedding day
my thinktank skin set for carrying lens around during shooting
lowepro rolling bag for carrying all unused items from one place to other
manfrotto bag for carrying all light stands
Newswear chestvest for canly carrying all flashes and lighting accessories around
a two steps ladder
a 15″ laptop [......]

I still remember the first time I met Jo and Desmond – in a coffee shop in grand hyatt. At the very first second I saw them, I already felt I met them before, but I was not very sure in which occasion. I finally learned that they were the bridesmaid and groomsman of the wedding of maggie and simon 3 years ago …. …. And, to my surprise, it is THIS wedding in which they met each other and started dating since then. So excited!!! Feel like I witnessed and being part of the wedding.

love the post title – it means I got something new in the photos again.
You may notice there are several wedding locations/venues got very very popular among my clients.
for reception venue, AMC, four seasons, peninsula, island shangri la and repulse bay are the most popular
for church, bethanie chapel, St. Margaret church – almost go there once every week during the peak season.
Shooting at the same location every week is a good and bad thing – you get very familiar with the places, but easily get bored at the same time. To avoid getting bored, I ‘ll try my best to get a few new and creative shots every time, if I can get 2-3 new shots on the day, then I am satisfied, and don’t have pressure at all for the rest of the day. 2-3 new shots may sound too less for you, but please remember, we may have over [......]

 what a beautiful day !!!!
First, we had wonderful weather on the wedding day of alice and bosco, in the photos below, you can easily find beautiful window light and lots of sunlight outdoor.
Second, when we arrived at Central in the morning, we found out the old Central police station was open for public and we could go inside for location shooting. Great !!!
Third, not only you can always see smiling faces from alice and bosco, but their families and friends as well . Perfect day.
Last but not least, we had a pretty pretty bride. All my team members agreed that alice looked like a gorgeous actress on the day (like a mix of 鍾嘉欣 and 徐淑敏, what do you think?).
