From the 1st day they met each other, it ’s a long distance relations — four years, both of them had to fly around the world – Austria, Baltimore, Boston, Brussels, Budapest, Guilin, Hawaii, Hong Kong, Iceland, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, London, New York, Morocco, Montreal, Orlando, Paris, Prague, San Francisco, Quebec, Vienna, you name it. Even though it ’s difficult to keep that relationship, they always to manage to catch other when the other ’s in need.
As Gordon said, “Love doesn’t mean being inseparable; it means being separated and nothing changes”
It ’s really a joy taking photos for them, both of them are very nice and kind, and easy to work with. Being based in the states now, they just had their wedding ceremony in Hawaii one week before coming to Hong Kong, to have a dinner with their relatives here. Even though the stay only last for three days, [......]

A very special day for queenie and sydney. it ’s also special for simon as well.
just the day before the shooting, the weather forecast was bad, thunderstorm was expected. I thought the session would be postponed, but out of my expectation, queenie told me they would keep going no matter what.
So what happened? The very second we got on the 7-seater van, it started pouring, and it ’s so bad that we couldn’t even get off the van any more. six persons in car, we kept discussing where we could go. They liked going to the peak, but I said there ’s no way I could take photo at the peak under the thunderstorm. Then Gracy suggested the Central pier, at least, we could hide under the pier ceiling … .. That ’s how we started the day …. ….
finally, I learned that the day was their 8th anniversary of [......]

 lovin it !!!
shooting in school is getting more and more popular in recent months’ pre-wedding sessions. I have already been to different schools 4-5 times just in last two months.
But I never have a couple dressed in their school uniform. Kimmie and Leo are the first this time.
I never suggest wearing school uniform to my clients before, as I think it is not suitable for every client and the photos can look cheesy sometimes. I have seen lots of “school uniform pre-wedding photos” on internet that look awful, with wrong setup, wrong makeup, wrong pose … ….
So when I started the photo session of kimmie and leo, I have a little bit of worry, but that feeling was gone once I pressed the shutter. Why? look at the photos below, they just look like real students, and look so cute !!!!!! A big thumb up to them, not [......]

Always love taking photos without pressure. Love to be the portrait photographer of clara. We didn’t have any plan on the day – no specific location, no specific photo or style – just shot whatever I like, and walked around in central. There ‘s so much fun on the day, and sometimes creativity and surprise ‘d follow under this situation.
makeup artist: JustGracy
we started the session at Gracy ‘s new studio. When I saw the steel mat (or plate) on the floor, I believed there ‘s potential of making great photo out of it. Thanks for everyone for working this out, though it ‘was quite awful that everyone lying on the floor at the door. (You can click here to see the behind the scene photo). And thank gracy for sharing your studio with us (but sorry for making a scratch on your newly made makeup table)
after the studio shots, we [......]

I seldom do commercial shooting as I am not keen on working with models. I love to work with ‘real people’ in weddings and always find lots of joy in weddings.
But when I know my friend gracy of JustGracy was going to have a new series of advertisement and portfolio, I don’t have any hesitation to be part of this project.
Before the shooting, we discuss on the style and both of us like to have a clean and simple style of big head shots. It is always a challenge to do big head shots as it requires more detailed lighting setup, but I like the results a lot.
We had lots of fun on the day, with 3 models, 3 makeup artists, with lots of different lighting setups. Non-stop shooting from 1100-1900, awesome!!!
Here are some of fav shots of the day, and any comment is welcome.

still remember vivian and roger – the couple who made me cry.
many people asked me why I cried ( after shooting hundreds of wedding in last few years), I would say I was really moved by what roger said to his father at the end of the two-days wedding.
I was so close to them and could hear what he say, and that ’s what really made me cry.
take a look at the following slideshow, not only me, everyone cried … ….
after seeing the sentimental side of the wedding, the day was also full of fun and surprises.
roger prepared a surprise to vivian before the first dance, in roger ‘s introduction video, he said ” Hi everyone, I am roger, 26, I am a teacher …. …. and I don’t know dancing …. …” What surprised everyone was that roger prepared a hip hop dance performance for vivian. No one knew [......]

when I am meeting new clients, a lot of them ask me if I can take good photos of them if they don’t know how to pose, don’t know how to smile. I always tell them that most of my clients are just normal people, and they don’t know how to pose/smile neither. However, if they enjoy the photo process, then it is not difficult to take good photos of them.
When I had the e-session of serena and alan, I found it difficult and challenging as I thought Alan didn’t like to take photo at all. In fact, I felt disconnected with him as we talked less than 5 sentences in the whole morning !!
However, the later the day, the more relaxed alan was. And he just looked like another person in the afternoon and at night.
