If you ‘re a frequent reader of this blog, you may expect me to give you surprise and post some new images in every wedding. However, the fact is — it is very difficult to do that. First, as a paid and professional wedding photographer, I have to provide very consistent work to my clients. They confirm me as their wedding photographer because they love the previous works I showed to them, so I can’t give them too much surprise just because I like to create some new images to please myself. Second, it can put too much pressure on myself if I always look for new images on a wedding day. Third, I have a lot of new concepts in my mind, however, in order to get this images, I may have to take risk of losing some important moments.

When I discussed it with Lawrence a few months ago, he felt the same and we came up the idea of 2nd shoot with each other, that is, we showed up in each other ’s wedding, but without the responsibility to deliver the photos. By doing that, not only can I try and learn some new technique in a real wedding, but also know what DOESN’T work as well.

I was so glad that Lawrence like the idea and I started 2nd shooting in two of his weddings in August. I had so much fun and it was such a unique experience for me.

I ‘d like to say a big thank you to Lawrence and his clients for their generosity of allowing me to "play" in these weddings and so look forward to lawrence 2nd shooting with me in Sept.

I found that HKU is getting more and more popular for my clients. I had taken photos at this building several times, but I got a new idea this time. Instead of taking photo at the long staircase behind, I was attracted by the shadow and the texture of the ground. To make the shot even more interesting, I asked Kat to run towards Andy (or the light) to create a motion. This is one of my fav of the day.

This picture was taken at Shek O after dinner. We ‘re about to leave, but I saw a big wall and thought of trying something different there. I asked them to dance and used a flash to create the shadow on the wall.

At the tram station on Baker Road. They ‘re awesome !!!!

Harvey loved architectural feature a lot, so I included a lot of special building and features at this location. I love this door as well.

I took picture in front of this door several time in the past, but it was always locked. However, a worker was working nearby for some building maintenance work and he went in and out without locking this door.

This location was at the Tai Tam reservoir. I love this moment and the quality of light in the picture. We ‘re under a bridge and the cover above helped me to create a nice direction light from the right

One of my fav pic. Very eye catching color. Soon after this shot, it started to rain again, and we had to stop.

this shot was taken at the corridor of the hotel. light is dark. Usually, photographer just used flash. Instead, I looked for good available light and waited until they stepped into this location. If flash is used, it definitely would kill the mood.

Yervant is such great guy, not only because of his great photos, but also his contribution to the wedding photographer industry. He is so willing to share his knowledge, he just doesn’t hide anything. And he tries to raise the standard and makes wedding photographer not only equal, but even better than fashion or other commercial photographers.

We did shooting from 4:00pm till 7:30 pm. We followed Yervant to shoot, learned the technique, then we shot. I loved this image the most for the whole day. It was the last shot of the day

John Garner from Bookcrafts is showing his album. Yervant uses Bookcrafts for his album, I love their quality. I am thinking of including his album in my future package

Again, this was taken at the sky floor of Four Seasons Hotel. Nice View !!! (PS. I learned from another wedding later that wedding couples are not allowed to take pictures at this open corridor and the staff of Four Seasons told me that some photographers just broke into there without their knowledge. Sorry I was one of them on that day)

I really like the decoration of the banquet. Marky & Alex had a big tree on stage. I asked them to sit under the tree to take this picture.
