I was always asked by client what kind of wedding I like the most.
big big wedding ?? six – stars hotel ?? oversea wedding ?? magnificent decoration??
after shooting hundreds of weddings in the last four years, I ‘d say these are not important to me any more. Instead, I just love to see my clients love my works, love my style of wedding photography. Nothing happier than seeing your clients loving you, right?
emmy and keith are definitely one of my favorite couple. Since the 1st meeting with emmy, I already know they are super fans of simon.the.photo, I am so looking forward to their photo session and can’t wait to share their photos on this blog.
So, how super fans they are ?? May be emmy can share it here … … I am too shy to say about it … ..

since I post michelle and tony ‘s pre-wedding photo back in July, I got lots of positive feedback. When I met new clients and asked them what kind and style of pre-wedding they like, answers like ” I love michelle and tony ‘s photos, something similar would be very nice” is not uncommon.
I shot michelle and tony ‘s wedding early Oct – what a beautiful wedding. Though Michelle has a very high standard of requirement of every single detail of her wedding, it ‘s not difficult to take picture of them as everyone ‘s so nice and always had smile on their faces. After we prepared the childhood video for them, we found out that michelle and tony knew each other when they ‘re still a child and the two families ‘re very close already. So you can imagine how happy [......]

The peak season is ON, can’t imagine that it starts so soon. Thanks for all your support, bookings from September to March are completely FULL now (no more new client can be accepted). I hope that I can keep updating this blog during this peak season, and share more and more great photos with all of you !!!!
As schedule in Sept and Oct is very tight, I ‘ll stop meeting new client during this period and priority will be given to all the existing client. Meeting will be resumed in Nov.
I shot connie and vincent ‘s wedding few weeks ago. The weather was so hot outside and we stayed inside the hotel most of the time. Having said that, peninsula is such a nice hotel that we ‘re never short of beautiful and interesting locations.
These two photos ‘re taken after the finish of the banquet. Really love the first one, [......]

I was enjoying the “holiday” in last few weeks and very lazy updating the blog.
with only a few photo sessions in august, I had more free time to clean up the photo editing and album backlogs. Apart from it, really enjoyed the extra time I had with shulin. We went to different playgroups (little gym, ballet junior …. …) or went to swimming everyday – this was such a wonderful time (you can see some photos and video on my facebook fans page) !!!!
Before writing this blog, I was packing my equipments to prepare the photo session tomorrow – the bar mitzvah party of hugo. This is the kick-off of the peak season and my schedule was fully packed before the Chinese new year. Hopefully, I can update the blog more frequently in this season … …
In this and the next few posts, I ‘d like to share some photo [......]

there is a story behind the following two photos that I ‘d like to share – a story about my photography approach.
It was the wedding of winnie and marcus, around 6:00pm, everyone was taking a rest to prepare for the cocktail. Not many guest at the cocktail area, so I took the time to take some shots of the decoration. After taking a few shots of the (blank) backdrop, I ‘d like to add some elements to it to make it more “alive”. So I set up the camera on tripod and WAIT for something to happen in front of the backdrop. In fact, I was anticipating children running around (it is not uncommon, is it?). After 1-2 min, a waiter walked across and I got the 1st shot below. I love it, better than a blank backdrop and it looked more interesting. After a few min., nothing interesting happened, [......]

a beautiful wedding – simple but full of touching moments.
ceremony: St. Margaret ‘s Church
reception: four seasons hotel hong kong
video: tomoko of simon.the.photo
on arrival at the church. Karen was still in the limo, with the reflection of the bridesmaids on the window. My fav photo of the day
the whole day summary prepared by tomoko. A brief introduction of tomoko: she joined my team since last year. Prior to joining us, she has been working with NHK for years and with experience producing over hundred documentary films before. I really love her style – documenting a wedding, with lots emotions and details.

still remember vivian and roger – the couple who made me cry.
many people asked me why I cried ( after shooting hundreds of wedding in last few years), I would say I was really moved by what roger said to his father at the end of the two-days wedding.
I was so close to them and could hear what he say, and that ‘s what really made me cry.
take a look at the following slideshow, not only me, everyone cried … ….
after seeing the sentimental side of the wedding, the day was also full of fun and surprises.
roger prepared a surprise to vivian before the first dance, in roger ‘s introduction video, he said ” Hi everyone, I am roger, 26, I am a teacher …. …. and I don’t know dancing …. …” What surprised everyone was that roger prepared a hip hop dance performance for vivian. No one knew [......]
