So nice to learn that I am ranked as one of the top 20 wedding photographer. This is highest points and ranking I ‘ve ever achieved in wpja contest.
to give you some background of the wpja contest, it is a contest that only allows photojournalist style wedding photos to enter and NO IMAGE ALTERNATION (that is photoshop) is allowed. hence, it is a contest of photography technique, rather than photoshop technique. That ‘s why I like this contest a lot. (Having said that, there is nothing wrong using photoshop to enhance your clients’ photos, in fact, I did a lot, but I just like the style of wpja contest)

Posting date: March 30th, 2009 | Category: My Blogs, personal |  just got an email from WPJA (wedding photojournalist association) last weekend that all the results of the 2004 2008 Q4 contest are released. I am so pleased to let you know that three of my photos have been awarded in the Q4 contest. And the better news is: together with my other 3 wins in 2008 Q2, I am ranked as the top 15 artistic wedding photojournalists in the overall 2008 photo contest.

Posting date: November 14th, 2008 | Category: wedding photographers, weddings |  This is definitely one of my fav wedding in Sept !!!! Not only I had a wonderful couple, wonderful wedding party, but a chance to work with a US award winning wedding photographer as well.
arron is a WPJA award winning wedding photographer from California and came to Hong Kong to shoot the wedding of Catherine and Kevin here. I got to know him because he hired me to second shoot with him for this wedding. (Sorry, I can’t post any photos of this wedding here … …) As he stayed in Hong Kong for a few days, I invited him to help shooting in one of my wedding, and it ‘s so inspiring to see a foreigner shooting a local Chinese wedding.

The Artistic Guild of Wedding Photojournalist Association [AG]WPJA just announced their Q2 wedding photo contest last Saturday, when I read their web site, I couldn’t believe that I was ranked as the top 4th artistic wedding photojournalist in this contest !!! And I am the only photographer from Asia in the Top 10 !!!!
I had 3 photos ranked top 10 in the contest — 2nd and 3rd place in the "get ready" category and 10th place in "sense of place" category. Here are the winning photos

Posting date: June 23rd, 2008 | Category: I-do (wedding day) |  this was a rainy and cold day. It was so cold that no one liked to stay outdoor for a few seconds.
this is my 2nd time to have a wedding at the beautiful Bethanie Chapel. I love this location a lot, not only because of the beautiful architecture, and I love their booking system as well. When you book this venue, you have a 4 hour session, so you don’t need to rush before and after the ceremony.

Even though we couldn’t go out because of the bad weather, there ‘re so many beautiful locations inside the chapel. I was trying a new concept, inspired by another wpja award winning photographer Dino Lara
Posting date: March 7th, 2007 | Category: My Blogs, personal, weddings |  I am proud to announce that I have won the 7th place of the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) 2006 Q4 contest. The category I have won is "reception".
The photo was taken at the Wedding of Karen & Allen. This is my second time winning in WPJA contest, and I am very excited as the competition is very keen with excellent wedding photos submitted from all over the world.
