a quick update: I was very sick and the cough was very bad these two days. I got 5 clients meeting yesterday, and felt very sorry that I kept coughing most of the time, and really couldn’t speak too much. Thanks for all the clients’ forgiveness (Verena, Katherine, Eva, Michelle, Bosco). One more shooting on coming Friday before the Chinese New Year holiday, hope can get well soon.
Another nice session in Oct that I ‘d like to share with you. Beautiful bride, nice couple – nothing can be better. We started the day at Park Island, this is my 2nd time to have shooting here. A very nice place, but too difficult to get there as we could only go there by their shuttle bus or ferry (remember, we had a lot of photo and lighting equipments to carry)
date: Oct 14, 2008
locations: Park Island, Stanley Market, Central (night shot)
make-up artist: polly of faces hk
thanks for treating me a very nice dinner at Tivo – a dining bar that they visit very often. Both Canly and I loved the food very much

Hi everyone,
a quick update of myself in the 1st two weeks of 2009. The first thing I had in 2009 was : I got a flu !!!!! I was feeling sick and had a very bad cough. I got 6 weddings and pre-wedding shoots in these two weeks and it ‘s a challenge for me to work when I kept coughing all the time. It ‘s getting better and better now, hopes no more cough before the wedding on coming Sunday.
another beautiful wedding I ‘d like to share with you. This is the wedding of Loretta and James on the Christmas Eve. Not a big wedding, but everyone was so nice and friendly on the day.
When I first met James in the morning, my first impression was: this guy really had a very good taste of dressing!!!! Then I learned later that Loretta worked in the fashion industry – and she choose all the cloths, tie, shoes … .. for him. Lucky man, isn’t he?
We did a same day photo slideshow at night, my assistant Siu B helped me to create this slideshow. He did a very good job and everyone loved it. This is the first time to show a same day photo slideshow on this blog.
date: 24 dec 2008
ceremony and reception: Plateau (the pool house) of Grand Hyatt
video: ken of simon.the.photo
I love this venue very much. I got some free time before the reception and took the beautiful shot of the venue. This is a kind of “multiple exposure” shots (with some Photoshop manipulation).
I used a off-camera flash to illuminate different parts (tables and flowers) on different exposures and merge it into one photo. You can see the shots of individual exposure here.

One of my fav session in Oct. Not only I get some stunning photos, but I have two stories to share with you as well.
Look at the first photo below – thanks everyone the effort to make this photo happened. We took this photo at the waterfall Mirror Pool near the Bride ‘s Pool “新娘潭”. It took us 15 min to walk (up and down) to get there. I ‘ll never do that for other bride, but Mel is an exception. She lives in the very northern part of new territories, in fact, her house can see Shenzhen and she walks to the Lo Wo train station every day. You can imagine that she is so used to walking around in the country side, and most of the locations that we picked are in the country side.
you can click here to see a behind the scene shot of the mirror pool.
What I like to to share with you is the second story. This is about the 2nd shot below. I asked them to run and jump in front of a small temple, it took 7-8 times before they had the action in sync. During one of the jump, Dickson fell onto the ground, and I thought it must be very hurt as I saw his arm hit the ground first. Out of my surprise, he said “Don’t worry, it doesn’t hurt at all and let ‘s jump again !!!”
After we finished the morning session, we went back home … … When Mel was having make up upstairs, Dickson immediately grab a bottle of 跌打酒 (a kind of Chinese medicine) to rub on his arms. Then I knew the fall really hurt, but he didn’t mention about it so that we could go on to take more beautiful photos of Mel !!!!
Love to see a groom with such a beautiful heart in very wedding/pre-wedding session !!!!

After see this shot, the 15 min walk ‘s definitely worth it

I did 3 weddings at repulse bay in last wedding season. Natalie and Ben ‘s wedding is the last one. Always love wedding there, the location, the service and food ‘re all perfect !!!!
Even though I was the only ONE (and only one) photographer of the wedding, I didn’t need to do any formal / group /posing shot at all, and I could walk around and have the freedom to take all the shots I like. Feel so good of it !!!!

Happy new year.
I can’t believe 2008 became a history so fast. It is a very challenging and meaningful year for me – the arrival of Shulin changed everything, and it was also the most busiest year since I started taking wedding photo in 2005.
I am excited to have the wedding of kitty and john to end 2008 – my 2nd time to have a new year eve count down wedding at four seasons hotels.
date: 31 dec 2008
ceremony: Bethanie Chapel
reception: Four Seasons Hotel HK
Happy new year from Ken, Canly and Simon !!!!! Waiting for the countdown !!!!! You can see more crazy “behind the scene” photos on my facebook fan pageppy

We had 1 hr for location shooting in the afternoon, as most of their friends came from oversea, Kitty ‘d like to go with the whole wedding party to some interesting locations in Hong Kong. We decided to go to Central, and finally we went to the “大排檔”on the stanley street.
