Relaxed portrait for Success Magazine
– Rita

I was hired by a US magazine to do a portrait for an interview of Rita Hui in Hong Kong. The magazine looked for more relaxed portrait rather than those studio shots.

Rita is a charming and successful lady. Before joining the USANA Company three and half ago, she worked in the wedding, fashion and image consultation industry. Now, she is the only "7 STAR DIAMOND DIRECTOR"  of USANA worldwide (the highest is 8 STAR).

Rita doesn’t like studio shot neither. We decided to take the portrait in shopping mall, polo shop (with their approval) and SOHO area. It is really a fun experience.

As the magazine has the "1st right" of publication, I can’t upload any of the portrait here before the magazine is published. To learn more about Rita and why she is so successful, you can visit her personal website here

Go to hiking in Yushan
(Jade Mountain 玉山) in Taiwan

Rock_climber

I am going to Yushan tomorrow morning for a hiking holiday. During the holiday, I have limited access to email and mobile. I ‘ll be back on 27 July (Thu).

This is my first time to have hiking in Taiwan and our team ‘ll try to reach the top of the mountain (at 3,952m) on 25 July morning. Hope that we can make it.

More update will be provided when I am back.

(Updated on 23 July) It is really bad. A typhoon is coming to Taiwan, we are still staying in Taipei and wait for our team leader ’s instruction. If the typhoon is strong, we have no choice to cancel it , otherwise, it is too dangerous for us to stay in the mountain. We ‘ll wait until Monday (24 July) morning.

Wedpix Magazine – everything about
Wedding Photojournalism

Just added a RSS feed of the Wedpix Magazine into my blog.

Wedpix is an on line Magazine of Wedding Photography published by WPJA and it is all about wedding photojournalism.

The content is very useful and much much better than those "bullshits" in the local wedding magazine , don’t miss it if you like the style of wedding photojournalism and ‘d like to understand more.

The recent article "Is Wedding Photojournalism a Fad?" is very interesting. It talks about the difference between trendy wedding photos & "real" wedding photojournalism.

Jeffrey is on “財經透視” tonight

I watched "財經透視" on TVB tonight and I was very surprised to see Jeffrey is being interviewed in the program. The program talked about the business opportunities of running club / bar inside commercial building. Jeffrey ’s interviewed because he ’s the director of Census Group which runs several clubs/bar in CWB. You can watched it online again if you ‘re subscriber of NOW TV.

Look at the "gallery" of my main site (www.SimonThePhoto.com), you can find that Jeffrey and Rebecca ‘re one of my client in 2005. Their wedding was so beautiful and unique, the most impressive part was they built a real "???" in their banquet at Four Seasons Hotel.

They ‘re also interviewed by "All About Wedding" magazine after the wedding, to read the interview and find out why they had the idea of having  "???" as the theme, you can click the following link for details.

engagement photo – Michelle & Tom

Michelle & Tom ‘re going to marry on Sept 30 at St. Margaret’s Church and Four Seasons Hotel. I took the engagement photos for them on Monday. We had heavy rain in the morning, in fact, on arrival at Nam Sang Wai, we had to wait inside the car for 20 minutes before we could take picture. Having said that, they are great couple !! Both of them ‘re so relaxed in front of the camera and Michelle ’s so elegant throughout the day.

I always like to take this kind of relaxed portrait
– you can always see the real expression from the wedding couple

Which photo do you like most?

Yesterday I met Emily again and presented the hot and sexy engagement photos to her. Even though the weather was very bad on the day of shooting, we had so much fun. A total of over 300 photos ‘re taken and I asked Emily "if she is going to choose one, which one does she like most?"
