The wedding of Carol & Carl was on Feb 5 at Conrad Hong Kong
I find myself obsessed with wedding shoes, and I love to capture the shoes in a fashion way. I love Carol ’s golden shoes, together with the red dress, body movement and the sunlight. it is a perfect shot

Since Carita & Sunny had confirmed the engagement shooting with me, I was expecting the shooting day very much. They had a special request — to have the shooting with their whole family — 4 dogs & 8 cats !!!! As a pet lover, I was very excited and very eager to see all of them.
On the day, all of the dogs and cats ‘re so lovely, and Carita & Sunny love them so much that allow them to go anywhere in the apartment — even on the bed. When Carita was having the make up, they ‘re walking around or standing next to her and watching what ’s happening to her.
Hi Carita, my cat "Zhun Zhun" is not feeling good today. As he always goes outside, he may have eaten some dirty things recently. I need to buy some medicine for him.
I found that all dogs are very good at doing this

The wedding of Tina & Man Po was wonderful on last Sunday at InterContinental. They ‘re a perfect couple for every wedding photographer — they ‘re so sweet whole day in front of the camera and I could take a lot of moment shots for them easily.
We also had "wonderful" weather — in the morning, there was sunshine & everything ran smoothly. After the lunch, we planned to have location shooting at the car park of Ocean Terminal. However, when we ‘re on our way there, the weather turned bad and a big thunderstorm came so that we had to turn back to hotel finally. (I found out later that we had a "yellow rain" warning signal this afternoon.)
So we had to change our plan and just do the location shooting at the hotel. Even though we only had a very busy hotel lobby for location shooting, they enjoyed the moment a lot and I got some of the best pictures for the whole day. My partner Ken and I ‘re very excited and we spent over 1.5 hour there.
Before the wedding, Tina & Man Po told me they ‘d like me to show a few pictures of the day during the banquet, and finally I had selected 7 pictures from this 1.5 hour shooting, they are all my favorite pictures. In fact, I found it difficult to choose, as there are so many great pictures.
My favorite one. It was raining outside and we had rain drops and moisture on the glass wall. Tina just looked gorgeous!!!

I absolutely love shooting Christina & Alan ’s wedding on Feb 11 at the Aberdeen Marina Club (AMC).
I love this shot. We did this shot very fast. Here was a bar just opposite to the ball room, but didn’t belong to their banquet and it ’s still open to other guests. I found the light very good here, so I asked the staff of the bar if I could take a few photos here for two minutes. So we need to do everything quick. I used a video light for lighting instead of flash. We could use flash to do similar light, but it might take longer time to setup. The color of the video light also matched the available light very well

I was so happy to be the wedding photographer for Rose & Fergus. To my surprise, I found out later that Fergus was alumni of my secondary school. The wedding was on Feb 8, 2007 at Renaissance Harbour View Hotel Hong Kong. Congratulations!!!
It is so beautiful, isn’t it?

Just a few photos during my stay in Athens.
I took this photo yesterday. The is the famous Parthenon (The Glory of the Acropolis). I took this at a small hill (it is called the Philopappou Hill) opposite to the Acropolis. I didn’t get a tripod, just put the camera on some rocks. I came to this hill again today and tried to take another shot again before the sky turned dark. I ‘ll post the photos when I am back to Hong Kong

The workshop finished yesterday and I went to Athens & stayed here for 3 days, just to relax. In last few days, we had over 12 hrs of workshop everyday — going out shooting, learning photo skill, photoshop skill, critics session, discussing of business. Someone asked me what I learned … … I believe that the most important thing I learned is more understanding of my weakness, & what I am not good at.
During the critics session, every photographer submitted a few photos to Yervant to have his comment. He said my photos are good, & the brides are going to love them. However, as a professional photographer, he could point out all bad things about the photos — the light is not correct, the pose of the bride is not good. If I enter those photos into a competition, it is straight "OUT" for sure.
This is very useful, makes me step back and think how I can reach the next level of my career. The workshop is definitely the best investment as a wedding photographer.
one of my favorite shot — I like the movement of the veil

Yesterday, we had the workshop started. I was so excited to meet Yervant in person. There are 25 other wedding photographers from all over the world to attend this workshop. It is great meeting & sharing with them - some of them have experience over 20 years. It is so interesting to learn that some of them had very different background before they became a wedding photographer, like, IT consultant from Gartner, marketing staff from a soccer team, fashion photographer, commercial photographer, and even a flight pilot.
Yervant is such great guy, not only because of his great photos, but also his contribution to the wedding photographer industry. He is so willing to share his knowledge, he just doesn’t hide anything. And he tries to raise the standard and makes wedding photographer not only equal, but even better than fashion or other commercial photographers.
We did shooting from 4:00pm till 7:30 pm. We followed Yervant to shoot, learned the technique, then we shot. I loved this image the most for the whole day. It was the last shot of the day

(I wrote this blog entry in Santorini) Corinna booked me via email and I didn’t met her until a few days before their wedding last week on 26 Apr. Both Corinna & Charlie lived in Australia and I asked them how they got together.
Thanks Corinna for sharing their love story, it was an amazing one. Back in 3 years ago, Corinna was still living & working in Hong Kong. On one normal day, her colleague (& Corinna ’s best friend) asked if she could take care one of her relative coming from UK and take him to go sightseeing in Hong Kong for a few days – that ’s how Corinna met Charlie.
Charlie just stayed in Hong Kong for a very short period. After that, he went to Thailand to learn cooking Thai food, and both of them kept contacting each other, Corinna provided information to him on which part of Thailand he should go visiting. But to Charlie ’s surprise, Corinna finally came to Thailand and became his tour guide in Thailand and Vietnam.
After that, Charlie went to Australia to start a new job, he found out that he couldn’t stop thinking of Corinna & ‘d like to see her again. Finally, he asked if Corinna could come to Australia to live with him. He even wrote a resigning letter for her & asked her to quit the job immediately.
Less than 3 month since they met each other, Corinna quited her job and went to Australia to meet Charlie !!!!!!
We planned to have location shooting after the tea ceremony at Charlie ’s family, but we finally didn’t have enough time going back to the hotel & changing back to wedding dress. So I suggested them to wear whatever they feel comfortable daily, I am so happy they love the idea. In fact, they prefer photos like this.
